LATPRO IBC 2006 v2.1

LatPro IBC 2006 conforms to the 2006 International Building Code and the 2007 California Building Code for light frame walls. LatPro uses the Equivalent Force Method to calculate seismic building loads and the Analytic Method (Method 2, Chapter 6 ASCE 7-05) to calculate wind building loads based on various site and design information. LatPro IBC 2006 provides an easy to use graphical interface that allows you to see each diaphragm and shear wall that should reflect the set of plans you are working off of.

Features:

- Components and Cladding Wind Pressure Analysis.

- Uplift and Compression Analysis with Connector and Chord Member Specification.

- Flexible input for User Defined Connectors.

- Uses simple input windows to enter numerical data of your project in order to create a graphical model of your structure. LatPro reflects that data graphically back to you for instant visual verification. The screenshot below shows a typical building during the design phase of LatPro.

- Analyzes both the wind and seismic forces on a structure simultaneously.

- All data entered into LatPro is easy to edit or remove. Structural designers can quickly compare and optimize designs with LatPro instead of wasting time with tedious hand calculations.

- Allows users to define their own shear walls for ultimate flexibility in building construction. Users can even enter Pre-built walls by other manufacturers straight out of their catalog.

- Allows the user to define up to 20 diaphragms per story, which allows complicated structures to be broken into sections that are quick and easy to model.

- Allows for over 16 gridlines per story per direction (North-South and East-West).

- Allows up to 8 unique shear walls per grid line and allows the user to define a shear wall as asymmetrical. This permits shear walls to have different floor types below. For example, one side of a wall may be above a raised floor and the other side may be above a concrete slab, which produce different uplift values.

- Generates a detailed report documenting all the user's inputs, project name, and date, as well as the calculated outputs including the specified shear walls, diaphragms and tributary forces. LatPro's reports are very easy to understand and were designed to be submitted to your building department.

- Provides an Error Check algorithm that analyzes the model for errors and notifies the user of necessary corrections.

Future Features: The following features are scheduled for future LatPro IBC releases

- 3 story analysis with torsional calculations

- Components and Cladding analysis

- In-plane discontinuity analysis and out-of-plane offset analysis

- Hardy Frame and Simpson Strong Wall lists

- Top plate splices

- Drag strut calculation

- Perforated shear walls and Segmented shear walls analysis

- Design for force transfer around openings in shear walls and diaphragms

- Other building irregularities
